Professor Igor Kaiserman

Professor Kaiserman graduated with honors from the School of Medicine of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1992, specialized in ophthalmology at - Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, graduated with honors and completed a fellowship in the field of cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.
Today, Professor Kaiserman is the director of cornea service and deputy director of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Barzilai Medical Center and is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Ben – Gurion University in the Negev.

He also manages the ophthalmology section of the “Medical Network” website, where he publishes articles and current updates in the field of ophthalmology. This, in addition to 100 professional articles published so far in world literature. Professor Kaiserman has extensive surgical experience and has developed and invented new surgical techniques.

On the academic side, Professor Kaiserman holds an masters' degree in Ophthalmology from Tel – Aviv university (graduated summa cum laude), a master's (MSc) degree in neurobiology from the Hebrew University and a master's degree in health administration (MPA)  from Clark University U.S.
During his career Professor Kaiserman received many excellence awards, including Dean and Rector awards from the Hebrew University, Outstanding Lecturer Awards and Life Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).

Professor Kaiserman served many years in various command positions in the military, navy and airforce. During his service, he specialized in diving medicine and aviation ophthalmology.

Recently he was elected to serve on the boards of the Israel Ophthalmological Society (IOS) and Israel Society for Vision and Eye Research (ISVER).
Professor Igor Kaiserman is a resident of Jerusalem, in his spare time he likes to engage in hiking, scuba diving, reading, computers, animal care and volunteer activity.
